The next UN World Climate Change Conference, Cop 23, will be held in Bonn as announced in the previous COP. However, the presidency will not go to Germany, but to the Fiji Islands. A choice from a highly symbolic value if one takes into account the fact that island states, island atolls, and small island nations are more at risk due to climate change.
